Sag Harbor Health Students Learn About Different Diseases
Tenth-graders took part in a disease sort activity in their health class.

In prepping for a new unit in diseases, Pierson High School tenth-graders took part in a disease sort activity.
During their health class, teacher Sue Denis provided the students with decks of cards, which listed various diseases, symptoms, cures and causes and asked the sophomores to sort the cards and chart their answers.

The activity was an opportunity for the Sag Harbor students to test their knowledge on diseases.
Denis noted that over the next several months the students will continue an in-depth exploration of communicable and non-communicable diseases.

Students will also study diseases that have a prevention component, including heart disease, tick-borne diseases, skin, breast and testicular cancers, as well as sexually transmitted diseases.
