Former Lansdale Hospital Employee Under Fire For Tweeting X-Rays

Kathryn Knott, who is one of three charged in an assault on a gay couple, has reportedly been fired from her job at Lansdale Hospital.

The Twitter feed of Lansdale Hospital’s Kathryn Knott is under scrutiny—and not just for comments about gay people. The 24-year-old emergency room technician, who is charged in an assault on a gay couple earlier this month, is now under fire for posting numerous photos of patients’ x-rays with commentary.

Knott, a Bucks County resident who is one of three charged in the assault, was fired from her job Thursday, 6ABC reported.

The hospital, part of the Abington Health network, on Wednesday said it was investigating Knott’s social media posts, which include photographs of x-rays and descriptions of patient injuries. “Abington Health takes patient privacy and confidentiality very seriously and is fully investigating this matter,” the hospital said in a statement.

“Got to pop this back in,” she tweeted on April 30, 2013, while sharing an x-ray of a hand with a bent finger.

On March 15, 2013, Knott writes, along with an x-ray of another mangled hand, “Ya know when u put a hotdog in the microwave too long? Thats what his finger looked like...split the bone.”

“The ortho doc let me snap this back in place! #poorkid #bestnighteverrr #ERnerd,” Knott posted with an x-ray in 2012.

“Biggest head bleed I’ve seen.. All from blowing his nose #crazy,” Knott posted, along with another x-ray, this time of someone’s head.

Knott, along with Philip Williams, 24, and Kevin Harrigan, 26, turned themselves in to authorities on Wednesday morning.

The three are being charged in connection with an assault on a gay couple on the 1600 block of Chancellor Street in Philadelphia on Sept. 11, according to the District Attorney.
