Burglary, Drug Arrest, Vehicle Impounded: Newtown Township Police Report

The police department reported three incidents between March 27 through March 29 in the township.

NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — The Newtown Township Police Department reported three incidents from March 27 through March 29, including a drug-related arrest during a traffic stop, a burglary investigation that ended with recovered property, and another traffic stop in which a vehicle was impounded.

On March 27 at approximately 2:30 a.m., police conducted a traffic stop on the driver of a Chevy pick-up truck in the area of the Newtown Bypass and Newtown-Langhorne Road for what the report described as a vehicle code violation.

According to police, suspected narcotics and drug equipment were discovered during the investigation and seized as evidence. The driver was arrested for suspected DUI.

Later that day, at approximately 9 p.m., police were dispatched to a Newtown Township home for a reported burglary. According to police, the investigation led to the recovery of the stolen property and the referral of a juvenile to the Youth Aid Panel.

On March 29 at approximately 5:30 p.m., police conducted another traffic stop, this time involving the driver of a Honda Odyssey in the area of the Newtown Bypass and Richboro Road. The stop was made for a vehicle code violation.

As a result of that investigation, police reported that the vehicle was impounded. The report also stated that a search warrant is pending. No further details were included about the reason the vehicle was impounded or what investigators were seeking through the pending warrant.
