Iron Hill Brewery Planning Newtown Location

Another craft brewery has set its sights on Newtown.

NEWTOWN, PA — Another craft brewery has set its sights on Newtown.

Iron Hill Brewery is seeking to open an outpost in the Village at Newtown Shopping Center, in a building that's currently under construction.

The Newtown Township Planning Commission will be reviewing Iron Hill's application for a location at 2920 S. Eagle Road during a meeting Tuesday. The site is currently under construction, Township Manager Micah Lewis said.

Iron Hill operates brewpubs that serve craft beers and food at more than a dozen locations across the region. Nearby brewpubs are situated in North Wales, Phoenixville, Ardmore, Huntington Valley, Philadelphia and more. Click here to view the full list of locations.

In addition to their own craft beers, the menu features pub fare, such as burgers, sandwiches, pizzas, and a selection of "brewhouse entrees." You can see the full menu here.

Another craft brewery will be opening locally this summer. Newtown Brewing Company expects to open this summer in the Newtown Business Commons.

If approved, Iron Hill would join several new additions to the shopping center, which is currently undergoing a renovation.

Earlier this month, the Newtown Township Board of Supervisors approved an application for Chipotle to open up there. Other additions include a drive through Starbucks, Factory Donuts, Nina's Waffles, Naked Chocolate, and Melt Shop, a grilled cheese eatery.

Steak Bar by Shula's has received approval to transfer a liquor license for a restaurant at the shopping center. MOD Pizza also has plans to open there, the leasing company says, but an application has not yet been submitted to the township.

Turning Point eatery opened earlier this month near the bookshop.
