Newtown Borough
In neighboring Newtown Borough, the council is expected to authorize the 2024 road program at Tuesday’s meeting at a cost of around $210,000.
The projects include:
- North Elm from 202 Elm to Andrew Drive
- South Norwood from Washington to Centre
- South Congress from Washington to Centre
- A large pothole at 231 North State Street
- A large pothole on Jefferson between North Congress and Chancellor
The water company will be installing new water mains on Elm between 202 Elm and Andrew Drive and will reimburse the borough 50 percent of the cost of its repaving project under an agreement it has with the borough.
“It’s a great deal for the borough,” said engineer Michelle Fountain.
