Countywide, midgrade averaged about $5.05, slightly above the statewide average, giving local motorists a snapshot of where prices are easing and how North Kingstown compares with nearby towns.
   

• Residents Urge Limits on Pet Store Animal Sales in Richmond (upriseri.com) — North Kingstown residents are pressing Richmond officials to limit pet store sales of dogs, cats and birds, citing problems they say their own town is facing after a puppy-selling chain opened there. At a recent Richmond Town Council meeting, sanctuary workers, a dog trainer and two North Kingstown residents urged a preventive ordinance, while North Kingstown itself continues debating a similar ban on pet store puppy sales.
