North Providence Man Gets 25 Years For Recording Himself Sexually Abusing Child

A detective matched up the room where the North Providence man was sexually abusing the child to an online rental property listing.

PROVIDENCE, RI — A North Providence man was sentenced to 25 years in federal prison for recording himself sexually abusing a child.

Larry Albino, 52, pleaded guilty in November to producing child pornography.

Following the 25-year prison sentence, Albino will spend the rest of his life on parole and as a registered sex offender. He was also ordered to pay $3,000 restitution.

"The depravity of the defendant’s actions cannot be overstated, and the victimization of children represents some of the most disturbing conduct our office prosecutes,” U.S. Attorney Charles C. Calenda said in a media release.

“We will continue to use every available resource, alongside our law enforcement partners, to identify, investigate, and hold those responsible fully accountable,” Calenda said.

In September 2024, a Rhode Island State Police Detective assigned to the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force received information from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that an IP address was used to upload 10 files depicting the abuse of a prepubescent child, according to the release.

"Further investigation revealed that the location where the videos were recorded matched images of rooms recently displayed in an online property rental listing where Albino resides," the release said.

The day after the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children contacted the detective, the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force "executed a court-authorized search of Albino’s residence and immediately recognized that some of the furnishings of rooms inside Albino’s residence matched those depicted in the videos of child sexual abuse," according to the release.

"Additionally, sandals worn by the defendant at the time officers arrived matched those worn by the abuser in some of the videos," the release said.
