4 Hospitalized In Street Racing Road Wreck: Cops

Two drivers face charges of street racing as well as other offenses, police said.

WARWICK, RI —Four were hospitalized and two face charges of street racing and other offenses following a wreck in Warwick Saturday, police said.

Four occupants of a wrecked automobile were trapped inside the vehicle near the intersection of Bald Hill and West Natick roads shortly after 6 p.m., the police department said in a media release.

"Upon arrival, officers located a vehicle that had sustained significant damage after leaving the roadway on West Natick Road and striking a barrier," the release said. "Fire personnel extricated four occupants from the vehicle, all of whom were transported to Rhode Island Hospital and Hasbro Children’s Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries."

The initial investigation indicated that speed was a factor and that a second vehicle may have been involved in the crash, according to the release.

"Following further investigation and review of evidence, officers identified and stopped the second involved vehicle," the release said.

The driver of the wrecked vehicle, 34-year-old Ashley Pare, was to be charged with driving to endanger resulting in physical injury, street racing, and reckless driving, according to the release.

The driver of the other vehicle, Cody Cullen, 21, was charged with driving to endanger resulting in physical injury, street racing, reckless driving, and duty to render aid, the release said.
