Book of the Month has announced its April selections, headlined by "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt" star Ellie Kemper's pick.
Kemper chose Cynthia D’Aprix Sweeney's "The Nest," which she said "does not meander gently through the paths of four troubled siblings and their various problems; it flies."
"I could not put this book down," Kemper said of "The Nest."

Ellie Kemper has played some dorky, but undeniably endearing, roles in her career, including the title role in "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt" and Erin Hannon in "The Office." In her latest role, Book of the Month’s April guest judge, she talked to Book of the Month about this dorkiness.
“My sister and I have a term called ‘Dork Shivers,’ which is what happens to you when you witness something so aggressively dorky that you involuntarily shudder to yourself," she said.
Since 1926, Book of the Month has used expert judges to pick monthly books for people to read and discuss.
Currently, the four judges plus a guest judge each select one book, released on the first of each month. One of the books is included in a user’s membership and ships by the sixth. Readers can also go online to talk about them with other users in discussion forums.
Here's a look at the other April selections:
"A Mother’s Reckoning" by Sue Klebold
Columbine Shooter’s Mother Opens Her Heart and Tells All
“When Sue Klebold decided to write a book about her son Dylan, she set a daunting task. How to express her love for the boy she raised—without minimizing the horror of his acts?” – Judge Kim Hubbard
"Flight of Dreams" by Ariel Lawhon
What Happened to the Hindenburg?
“The travelers’ dreams suddenly seem possible and we root for them even as we confront the chapter-by-chapter countdown to the disaster.” – Judge Nina Sankovitch
"Left of Boom" by Douglas Laux and Ralph Pezzullo
Do or Die Inside the Taliban: A CIA Agent Reveals the Truth
“Smith’s not necessarily a guy you like, but his forceful, unrelenting nature makes him a compulsively entertaining narrator.” – Judge Book of the Month Team
"No One Knows" by J.T. Ellison
Aubrey Hamilton’s Husband Is Dead. Isn’t He?
“I find nothing to be more satisfying than an edge-of-my-seat thriller. 'No One Knows' had me practically levitating over my chair as I raced through it.” – Judge Liberty Hardy
