ACROSS AMERICA — As the number of Americans fully vaccinated against the coronavirus continues to grow, the traditional Thanksgiving gatherings of the pre-pandemic days are likely to return with a full, festive vengeance to U.S. cities this year.
In our excitement to once again cook a complete holiday meal for 20, it’s quite possible we’ll forget an item or two on our grocery lists.
Fortunately, plenty of grocery stores will be open Thanksgiving Day to pick up that missing can of cranberry sauce or additional package of biscuits.

Here are the hours for grocery stores that will be open on Thanksgiving Day, along with those that won’t. As always, Patch encourages you to call ahead to your local store to confirm hours at that location.
ACME: Stores will be open on Thanksgiving. Call your local store to confirm hours.

Albertsons: Stores will be open on Thanksgiving. Call your local store to confirm hours.
Cub Foods: Select stores will be closed while others will close at 2 p.m. or 4 p.m. All liquor stores will be closed. Call ahead to your preferred store to confirm hours.
CVS: Many CVS Pharmacy locations, including 24-hour locations, will be open regular hours. Some pharmacies may have reduced hours or be closed for the holiday. The company recommends calling ahead to confirm store hours.
Fairway Market: Stores will be open, but hours will vary at each location. Call ahead to check hours at your preferred location.
The Fresh Market: All locations will be open 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Food Lion: Most stores will be open until 4:30 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day, but customers are encouraged to call their local store to confirm hours.
Giant Food: Stores will be open from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thanksgiving
Hannaford: Most stores will be open on Thanksgiving Day. Call your local store to confirm hours.
Harris Teeter: All stores will open at the regular time and close at 2 p.m.
H-E-B: All stores will be closed at noon. Pharmacies will be closed.
Hy-Vee: Most stores will be open until 2 p.m., though hours may vary by location.
Jewel-Osco: Stores will be open on Thanksgiving. Call your local store to confirm hours.
Kroger: Most stores will open at the regular time and close by 5 p.m. with the exception of select stores. Shoppers should call ahead to confirm local store hours.
Ralphs: Most stores will open at the regular time and close by 5 p.m. with the exception of select stores. Shoppers should call ahead to confirm local store hours.
Rite Aid: Most Rite Aid stores will be open on Thanksgiving Day, but hours will vary depending upon location.
Safeway: Stores will be open on Thanksgiving. Call your local store to confirm hours.
Save Mart: All locations will open at their regular time and close at 5 p.m.
ShopRite: Hours will vary by location. Call ahead to your local store to confirm hours.
Sprouts Farmers Markets: Stores will be open from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Stop & Shop: Stores will be open regular hours.
Walgreens: Most stores and 24-hour pharmacies will be open during regular business hours. Select pharmacies will be open with modified hours. Customers are encouraged to check their local store hours before heading out.
Wegmans: Due to Massachusetts state law, the Northborough, Chestnut Hill, Burlington, Westwood, Medford and Natick stores will be closed Thanksgiving Day. All other stores will close at 4 p.m.
Whole Foods: Stores will be open on Thanksgiving, but hours may be limited and will vary by location.
