Dedham Author's 'Ukrainian Peace Print' Draws $15K For UNICEF

Peter H. Reynolds of Dedham, an award-winning children's book author and illustrator, created an image on March 1 symbolizing the hope for peace in Ukraine as its invasion by Russia raged forward. Now, his "Ukrainian peace print" not only has gone viral but also proceeds from the sale of its prints have raised $15,000 in only three weeks for UNICEF USA to aid the Ukrainian people.

'Hometown Hero' Award Given To Bayside Mailman Beloved By Seniors

Claude Boniello has walked the streets of Bayside and Oakland Gardens, delivering mail and stopping to chat with residents along the way, for several decades — a consistency that neighbors appreciate, and have come to depend on.

"He has shown himself to be an asset to the community," Denise Puleri, a friend and customer of Boniello, told the New York Daily News, which awarded the "Hometown Hero" honor.

Rhode Island State Police Welcome New Comfort Dog

The Rhode Island State Police introduced the newest, smallest member of the force to the public Friday. K9 Gus is a nine-week-old goldendoodle puppy, who will serve as the department's new comfort dog. (Wait until you see his photo!)
