ACROSS AMERICA — The 2023 NCAA Men's March Madness Tournament will be remembered as the "year for the underdogs." The No. 4 seed, the University of Connecticut, beat No. 5 seed San Diego State in Houston on Monday night with a blowout score of 76-59. This marks UConn's fifth title in the past 24 years and San Diego State's first trip to the title game.

In other top moments of the 2023 March Madness Tournament, Fairleigh Dickinson, a private, commuter school in Teaneck, New Jersey, became the second No. 16. seed to beat a No.1 seed with its 63-58 shocking win over Purdue, and Princeton, the No. 15 seed, won two games in the tournament, delighting fans across the board. Lastly, the Louisiana State University Tigers earned their first NCAA Tournament win in 25 years as they beat No. 2 seed Arizona 59-55 before slamming No. 7 seed Missouri 78-63.

Markquis Nowell of Kansas State even broke the NCAA Tournament record for assists in a game with a whopping 19. Julian Strawther helped Gonzaga with a huge win over UCLA's Bruins after hitting a 3-pointer with only 7.2 seconds left. The Bruins stormed back from an eight-point deficit in the final 1:05 and took a 76-75 lead on Bailey’s 3-pointer with 12.2 seconds left before Strawther's shot.
