Noah Derksen Shares Intimate Title Track of Forthcoming LP

Award-winning roots/Americana artist Noah Derksen has been steadfastly honing his craft as a songwriter and musician, touring across continents and writing songs with artists from around the world. He’s reunited with JUNO-Award winner Murray Pulver on the follow-up to his 2019 full-length, America, Dreaming, which was also produced by Pulver and earned Derksen a 2021 Canadian Folk Music Award for Emerging Artist of the Year.

Sanctity of Silence follows the arc of love, from start to finish. Set to drop on March 9th, 2023 via Overdraft Records, Derksen is sharing the album’s title track ahead of its official release. The first song that he started writing for the new record and the last to be completed, “Sanctity of Silence” evokes a tender moment between lovers, where the softest of whispers and the faintest of touches feels like a waterfall running through your spine.

This song has always felt like a soft whisper, and its intimacy yearned to be captured through an acoustic version of the song. We shot the video in my friend Cody’s living room when he was on tour, stripped back on the acoustic guitar as the song was written, with Keiran on the warmest of pianos from the 1800s and Mackie singing angelically. – Noah Derksen
