Roaming Swan Corralled By Lincolnwood Police: Video
Police on "swan patrol" intercepted the ambling bird Friday near Karlov and Lincoln avenues and helped get it to safety.

LINCOLNWOOD, IL — A swan on the loose in a residential neighborhood was escorted to safety by police in Lincolnwood Friday.
A video posted Monday by the Lincolnwood Police Department shows the swan waddling through puddles in the area of Karlov and Lincoln avenues.
Police said officers on "swan patrol," along with staff from the village's public works department assisted the swan to ensure its safety.

Officers got a report of the bird in the middle of the road on Karlov Avenue shortly before 1 p.m., according to Lieutenant Travis Raypole. Responding officers guided it down the street for a few minutes until it ended up flying away to safety.
