Emergency Landing With Keanu Reeves Means Free Burgers For All

After an emergency landing trapped the movie star and his fellow passengers in Bakersfield, they made a road trip of the adventure.

LOS ANGELES, CA — When there’s an emergency, and a bus is your only hope, there’s really only one movie star who can save the day: Keanu Reeves. And save the day is just what he did Saturday when a San Francisco-to-LAX Skywest/United plane was forced to make an emergency landing in Bakersfield due to mechanical problems.

Because being trapped in Bakersfield is arguably on par with being trapped on a bus rigged to explode, the “Speed” star arranged for a shuttle bus to get him and the other stranded passengers home, according to the Huffington Post.

After convincing the group that it would be quicker to take a shuttle than wait for another flight, the “John Wick” star got everyone onboard and proceeded to regale them with a Wikipedia reading of the charms of Bakersfield.

“It’s population is around 380,000, making it the 9th most populous city in California, and the 52nd most populous city in the nation,” Reeves informed his fellow travelers. Then he played everyone some tunes from Bakersfield including Buck Owens, Merle Haggard and Wynn Stewart.
The entire excellent adventure was captured on video and posted on social media by a fellow traveler, who offered hilarious asides throughout the video, telling viewers Reeves is a gorgeous man despite his choice in footwear (sandals over socks).

Almost home, the crew of weary but entertained travelers stopped at a Newhall Carl’s Jr. for some dinner.

On Thursday the Newhall restaurant offered a free Famous Star burger with the purchase of any combo meal to honor the star’s appearance, reported the LA Daily News.
