Man Meowed At Brookfield Police, Claiming He Was A Cat: Report

Police said they woke Graden Gibson, only to have Gibson begin meowing and saying that he was a cat.

BROOKFIELD, WI — A Brookfield man faces multiple charges including disorderly conduct and resisting arrest after police say he threatened officers and told them he was a cat.

Graden Gibson, 20, is out on bond after previously being held in the Waukesha County Jail. According to a criminal complaint filed in Waukesha County, officers were called to Beverly Hills Park at about 11:30 p.m. on April 7 on a report of a man laying near a tree.

The complaint states that officers found Gibson laying on the ground. After trying to revive him, officers said Gibson began to wake. Police said Gibson began meowing and said that he was a cat.

Investigators said Gibson later became agitated, and threatened to punch out the responding officer. When asked if he would cooperate, he reportedly told police a fake name and birthday, eventually saying, "I don't know, am I going to get arrested?"

According to court records, Gibson is due back in court on May 1 for a hearing.
