Hudson Valley's Martha Stewart Sells Homefurnishings Brand
The Westchester resident will remain the chief creative officer of the brand.

BEDFORD, NY — Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia — the Bedford resident's family of brands — has been sold to Marquee Brands. The company paid $215 million to purchase the product empire from Sequential Brands Group.
According to Adweek, Sequential bought MSLO for $353 million in 2015.
Stewart's publications, which include Martha Stewart Living and Martha Stewart Weddings, aren't part of the deal, because they are owned by Meredith Corporation.

The domestic goddess' homemaking empire includes her lines of home furnishings, kitchenware and other branded products, nypost.com said.
The purchase also includes brands of celebrity chef Emeril Lagasse, which are valued at about $10 million.

Under the terms of the deal, Stewart will remain the chief creative officer of the brand and will be a "significant stockholder" of the new Sequential-MSLO combined company, fortune.com reported.
