SHREVEPORT, LA — President Donald Trump is set to headline a rally in Bossier City, Louisiana, on Thursday with the aim of helping Republican Eddie Rispone's bid in the gubernatorial election taking place Saturday.
It will be the second week in a row Trump is rallying in Louisiana for the Republican candidate, as Rispone is looking to unseat Democratic incumbent John Bel Edwards.
The Republican National Committee has also poured an additional $1 million into the Louisiana governor's race leading up to Saturday's runoff election date, according to Politico.

The rally comes just a day after the first public testimony in the impeachment inquiry.
The rally is Bossier City will be the third time Trump has campaigned for a Republican candidate in a gubernatorial race this election season.

Thursday night's rally is scheduled to start at 8 p.m. eastern time and will take place at the CenturyLink Center.
