Southwest Airlines $49 Fare Sale Ends Thursday

If you want to spend part of the next few months somewhere else, Southwest Airlines has a sweet deal that will allow you to escape on the cheap. Depending on where you’re flying to and from, you could get there and back for as little as $49 each way. But you’ll have to book your flights soon; the deal ends at 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 24.

And, if you want to fly from Atlanta to Chicago’s Midway airport, one-way fares are even cheaper than $49 — $42, to be exact. One-way fares ranged up to $189 for a flight from Buffalo/Niagara, New York, to Las Vegas, but many flights were found for less than $100 one-way.

Domestic flights must be booked from Sept. 5-Dec. 14, 2017, and some blackout dates apply.

If you’re already thinking ahead toward spring break 2018, the sale also features low prices on flights to resort cities in Mexico, the Cayman Islands, Costa Rica, Cuba, Jamaica, Bahamas and elsewhere.

International flights must be taken from Sept. 12-Dec. 13, 2017, and Jan. 9-March 1, 2018. Travel to and from San Juan, Puerto Rico, is valid from Sept. 6, 2017-Dec. 7, 2017, and from Jan. 16-March 1, 2018
