“Radio Up” is the third single release this year. It has an 80’s arcade rock sound and style with the use of processed vocals within the chorus. "Radio Up is a tongue-in-cheek throwback to my high school days,” shares Jon Christopher Davis. “I grew up hanging out in record stores, arcades and blasting my Pioneer speakers to the sounds of Queen, ELO, and the Heartbreakers. I presented the 2 minutes & 38 seconds idea to my Rock & Roll Hall of Famer partner, Stan Lynch, and voilà!”
The Speaker Wars are an American rock band formed by Stan Lynch (founding member of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers) and Texas singer-songwriter, Jon Christopher Davis. Their unlikely meeting occurred in Nashville in 2001 while both in the throes of attempting to understand what became of the music they grew up loving and listening to. It only gets worse…

JCD was enduring his third major label deal and his producer was yet undecided. He asked Lynch to produce and Lynch gladly came on board. After being told by the “powers that be” that they would be recording a collection of shabby tunes, written by a slew of outside writers, Lynch countered… "Why are we recording these shit songs, he’s got good ones of his own?"
Naturally, they were both swiftly fired. From the ashes arose The Speaker Wars. No committee, just two guys making music they want to hear coming out of their speakers on their own terms, time and dime.
