Super Tuesday Live Arkansas Democratic Primary Results: Clinton Projected Winner

Update 8:43 p.m.: Hillary Clinton has been projected to win the Arkansas Democratic Primary by the Associated Press. The AP called the race with as little as less than 1 percent of all precincts reporting results.

Original: Hillary Clinton was expected to cruise to an easy Super Tuesday victory in Arkansas, where she spent many years cutting her political chops as the state’s first lady.

Clinton has been crushing Democratic rival Bernie Sanders in statewide polling. Real Clear Politics has Clinton up by 28.5 points in their average of state polls.

Barring a miracle, Arkansas belongs to Clinton.

Neither Clinton nor Sanders have received endorsements from any Arkansas politicians. But Clinton has a not-so-secret weapon, Bill Clinton, who served as governor in Arkansas for 11 years.

Clinton defeated Barack Obama in the 2008 Arkansas Democratic primary with a dominant 70 percent of the vote.

Following voting in three states this year, Clinton led Sanders in pledged delegates, 52 to 51. But Clinton holds a commanding lead over the Vermont Sen. in the race for the nomination overall with the support of 445 superdelegates compared to just 18 superdelegates for Sanders.
