U.S. Fighter Jet Shot Down Over Iran; Desperate Search Ongoing For Crew Member: Reports

UNITED STATES — An Air Force 15E fighter jet has been shot down over Iran, according to multiple reports.
The New York Times reported that one crew member was rescued but a "massive" search was ongoing for the second airman.
According to Reuters, two U.S. officials told the outlet on that the downed plane "the first such known incident since the war began nearly five weeks ago."

The U.S. jet was shot down by antiaircraft fire by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, according to Tasnim, a semiofficial news agency tied to the IRGC, Newsday said.
The White House did not immediately reply to a request for comment; the Pentagon told Patch it had no comment.
