Veterans Turn Out For Final Farewell To One Of Their Own
It was a simple request: Please come honor a veteran who died, and didn't have more than a few friends to support him.
That simple request, however, generated an overwhelming response, as veterans filled Weatherhead Young Funeral Home in Brick, New Jersey, to pay their respects to Edwin Basterl on Thursday morning.
French Valley Woman On Mission To Help Ukrainians Escape War
A California woman who spent part of her young adulthood in Ukraine has taken up the cause of a lifetime. Her humanitarian efforts began with a simple request.
"A Ukrainian friend asked for help getting out of the country," Nancee Tegeder, 43, explained.
Tegeder's plea went viral very quickly and good Samaritans stepped up. Over $100,000 has been raised to help Yulia Shvets and her children get to Germany.
Virginia Teacher Marks 90th Birthday, Remains In Classroom
With over six decades of teaching experience at Alexandria Public City Public Schools, Louis Kokonis is familiar with milestones. Now the Alexandria City High School math teacher marked another one with his 90th birthday at the start of April. He has worked with the school system for over 60 years.
