Chef Devon creates Jamaican specialties at Liberty University
Liberty University Dining by Sodexo hosts Southern Virginia University's Executive Chef Devon Hewitt
On March 1, Liberty University Dining by Sodexo hosted Southern Virginia University’s Executive Chef Devon Hewitt at the Liberty University campus.
Area Chef Sarah Falls wanted to give Chef Devon an opportunity to visit the Liberty campus to cook authentic Jamaican cuisine for a lunch special at The Food Court at Reber-Thomas.
Chef Devon prepared Jamaican jerk chicken with red beans and rice, Jamaican steamed cabbage, and fried plantains.

“Students lit up as they saw the tasty lunch special displayed within one of our dining hall stations,” said Marketing Manager Shelby Burton. “We’re so glad we had the opportunity to host Chef Devon and let him share his culture with us.”
