Feedback leads to dining improvements at Liberty University
Liberty University Dining by Sodexo makes changes to improve the campus dining experience.

Upon reviewing responses from multiple feedback channels, including a student satisfaction survey, Liberty University Dining by Sodexo is making changes to improve the campus dining experience.
A successful semester with Liberty’s Costa Coffee machines is resulting in an additional unit. Existing machines within Liberty’s dining locations are only accessible during open hours. This new machine will be in one of the main halls of the Montview Student Union building, accessible after the other locations close for the night.
The Sodexo team is also adding a breakfast option to its award-winning allergen-friendly station, Simple Servings. Simple Servings will now serve breakfast Monday through Friday which will include a protein, starch, and some days a hot fruit item.

Updates are also underway at the newest original campus restaurant, the Hungry Herbivore. Introduced in the fall semester of 2022, the Hungry Herbivore previously was 100% plant-forward and gluten-free. After reviewing survey results and fielding student feedback, the restaurant will no longer be gluten-free.
“We decided to focus solely on plant-forward as it’s been a growing trend, and our overall company mission is dedicated to pursuing increased sustainability,” said District Chef Sarah Falls. “We also added many menu items to this location, including a vegetable quesadilla, a vegetable philly sandwich, and a jackfruit BBQ sandwich, in addition to tweaking best-selling items to give them a more pizazz.”

“We removed the gluten-free portion of this location to allow us flexibility to create more menu items that really address the demand from our vegan and vegetarian students on campus,” said District Manager Duke Davis. “The initial menu limited us from serving specific items because we had to make them vegan and vegetarian, while ensuring they didn’t include gluten.”
Changes began at the start of the spring semester.
