📰 News we're reading

• D.C. region rents would be higher today without pandemic, data shows (ffxnow.com) — If you rent in Annandale, new data show August median prices at $1,864 for one-bedrooms and $2,127 for two-bedrooms, down 6.2% from last year. The report compares these trends with Fairfax County and the wider D.C. region, suggesting local rents are cooling slightly after pandemic-era swings.

• Bailey's Rotary Club ends its Mustang raffle after 38 years (annandaletoday.com) — Bailey's Crossroads Rotary is ending its long-running classic Mustang raffle and switching to a travel sweepstakes that still supports local and international service projects. Some members have already transferred to the Annandale Rotary Club, but residents here can still buy entries through December, with proceeds funding housing help, student support, and other community programs nearby.
