Niche, a school rating site and directory, has unveiled their rankings for the best public elementary schools in D.C. for 2017. Best Elementary Schools in Virginia 2017: Northern Virginia Dominates Niche's Top 100 List

A ranking of the best public elementary schools in Virginia for 2017 was a clean sweep for Arlington in the top 10, and a dominant performance by Northern Virginia schools in general. Arlington Traditional Elementary School topped the list, followed by Henry Elementary School, McKinley Elementary School, and seven other Arlington schools before Falls Church's Thomas Jefferson Elementary School, which came in 11th place.>>>Read more.

Fairfax County Police Will Release Officer's Name in Herndon Shooting

Fairfax County Police say they will release the name of a police officer involved in a Jan. 16 shooting in Herndon after an investigation determined that there was no credible threat to the officer, but it will be up to the courts to determine the timing. The name of the officer, who had sued the police department to stay anonymous, will be released after the police chief meets with the officer.>>>Read more.
