Celebrate Punkin' Chunkin' Weekend at Sinkland Farms 35th Annual Pumpkin Festival!
Punkin' Chunkin' returns to the farm on with Team Carbo's trebouchet, an innovative new catapult design that uses large rubber bands to power it. This catapult won't be using any motors - it's manually cocked and operated.
Saturday highlights include live music by Attic Static from 1-4 p.m. with guitar-charged roots, rock, soul, pop and blues; award-winning Virginia Tech all-male Juxtaposition A Cappella from 12-2 p.m.; PumpkinTron, Jesse Johnson, the stilt walker from Ninja Warrior, roaming the farm from noon-1:30 p.m.; Spot the Scarecrow
Enjoy hayrides to pick-your-own pumpkins in the 4th Best Pumpkin Patch in the nation by USA TODAY, an award-winning 5-acre corn maze, visits with farm animals, Art in the Barn, food trucks, beer and wine from the Terrace Bar, arts & crafts vendors, pig races and blacksmith demonstrations.
Blue Ridge Extreme Mobile Laser Tag (extra cost) and pony rides and Ride-a-Rescue horseback trail rides from Winterfrost Farm (extra cost).
Festival hours: 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
Admission: $20 Saturdays and Sundays; children 3 and under are free.
