Plane Runs Off Runway at Manassas Regional Airport
A plane ran off the side of the runway at Manassas Regional Airport on Thursday. The pilot was the only person on board and was not injured, according to Patty Prince, a Manassas City spokesperson.

After nearly an hour of debate, a legislative panel killed a bill that would have exempted law enforcement officers’ names and training records from the Virginia Freedom of Information Act.
SB 552, proposed by Sen. John Cosgrove, R-Chesapeake, would have exempted the names and other information about police officers from release under FOIA. Cosgrove said his measure sought to protect law enforcement officers. >>> Read more.
Heroin Charges in Operation ‘Save a Life’
A joint task force across northern Virginia announced a new campaign Thursday, in an aggressive effort to combat heroin use and distribution.
Operation “Save a Life” includes an education component and provides an avenue for those arrested to seek help for their addictions, according to Manassas City Police. Past operations have resulted in a total of over 150 arrests and the execution of approximately 30 subsequent searches. >>> Read more.
