Fairfax Woman Charged With Assaulting Roommate In Old Town Fairfax: Police
A Fairfax woman was charged after police said her roommate reported being assaulted early Thursday in Old Town Fairfax.

FAIRFAX CITY, VA — A Fairfax woman is facing an assault and battery charge in connection to an incident involving her roommate early Thursday in Old Town Fairfax, according to authorities.
Officers from the City of Fairfax Police Department responded shortly after 4 a.m. to investigate the report of an assault in the 3800 block of University Drive.
The victim told police that they were assaulted by a roommate, according to the incident report. The roommate, who was identified as 25-year-old Kailie Moyers, was arrested at the scene and taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.

Moyers was charged with assault and battery and held on a $1,000 bond, according to police.
A preliminary hearing was scheduled for 9:30 a.m. on Oct. 20 in Fairfax City General District Court, according to court records.

The assault and battery charge is a Class 1 midemeanor. If Moyers is found guilty, she faces a sentence of up to 12 months in jail and/ or up to $2,500 in fines, under Virginia law.
