Spirit of America
Great fun family experience at George Mason University, "reading a textbook or going to a museum but brought to life."

The Spirit of America is a fun family experience. It is a show that has history of the U.S. Army, musical spirits, and reenactments from wars, from The Revolutionary War to World War II and more. The reenactments were fun, exciting, and surprising.
In our area, it was held in the DC Armory on September 10 – 12 and September 18 - 19 at the George Mason University EagleBank Arena (it used to be called The Patriot Center). It has different locations each year for each state so you can pick which location you want to go to. Tickets were free but they were required.
The show is meant for people ages 10 and up because of fake shooting and smoke/fog machines. However, I think younger kids will like it. They might just need to cover their ears.

The show is usually 2 hours with a 15 minute break for a swear-in ceremony for Army recruits. There are no reserved seats, so it is first come first serve seating. People got there over an hour early!
