Youth Refugee Problems

Youth refugees have been wanting the same life as regular youths all over the world. They deserve the same education, opportunities and hopeful future that other youths have. Unfortunately, they do not have access to resources that can help them achieve a hopeful future because of their status. Youth refugees are not educated on how they can achieve a better life and this lack of information, does not allow them to access their full potential. Youth refugees often turn to other means that are not acceptable to make a living because they see this as the only choice they can make a living. But when they are presented with an opportunity, youth refugees show their talent and skills that surprise society. Youth refugees are also misunderstood. They receive lots of racism and hate causing them to feel unworthy. Society needs to understand they are human beings and need to be treated with the same respect we treat our fellow friends with. The parents of the youth refugees often do not know English, have a hard time find a job and have no guidance on how to make it in a new country. This pressure is put on their kids to help them through the language barrier. Youth refugees grow up quicker than a typical regular youth. They translate for their parents, help them get around, show them how to pay the bills that come in English and support their siblings when their parents are working doubles and late nigh shifts. Assuming adult responsibilities at such a young age is a burden for youth refugees and is a problem that needs to be addressed. A refugee is someone who entered the US legally, but they are treated as if they came illegally. All these problems that youth refugees face are piled up upon the problems they previously had in their home country. 12 million Syrian refugees are misplaced because of the war and most of them are trying to flee to save their lives. Imagine a youth refugee coming to a new country having lost a part of his family or the trauma they have been through. A refugee is already risking their life when trying to leave their country. They could be threatened by their local authority and have no choice but to escape to stay alive. Now imagine the responsibility a youth refugee must take on because of the risk the parents took for them to have a better life. We need to look for a solution to this problem to provide the necessary care and support that youth refugees deserve in order to show them there is hope in this world.
