Hurricane Michael Remnants Could Mean Wind, Rain In NoVA, DC

The remnants of another hurricane could bring more rainfall to northern Virginia and Washington, D.C., late this week after striking the Gulf Coast, forecasters say. Hurricane Michael is now a category 1 storm just off the coast of Cuba Monday as it headed for the southeastern U.S., according to the National Hurricane Center.

Swastikas Sprayed On Jewish Community Center

Police are investigating hate graffiti that appeared at the Jewish Community Center of Northern Virginia in Annandale Saturday, Oct. 6. Leaders called the vandalism disgusting, cowardly and an act of hate. Staff reported the swastikas on the building exterior around 8 a.m.

Neighbors Back Jewish Community Center After Vandalism

After an unknown person vandalized the Jewish Community Center of Northern Virginia with over a dozen swastikas, the community has rallied to speak out against the hate crime. Board president David Yaffe told WTOP the JCC has gotten numerous calls, emails and visits from elected officials.

Human Remains Potentially Found In Sterling: Sheriff's Office

The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office is investigating potential skeletal remains of a person found in Sterling Saturday.
