A northern Virginia couple are among hundreds of Americans who became stuck on a quarantined cruise ship near Yokohama, Japan. James "Rod" Bell and Athene Bell were on the Diamond Princess cruise ship when officials learned that another passenger had tested positive for the new coronavirus.

Teen Dies From Flu Complications: Reports

A Leesburg high school student died Friday from complications related to the flu, according to news reports. Katie Giovanniello, a 16-year-old sophomore at Heritage High School, was diagnosed by a doctor Feb. 2 with influenza B.

High School Students Lead $150K Fundraising Effort To Cure Cancer

Two sisters attending Woodson High School and fellow students are raising money to find a cure for cancer as part of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's 2020 Student of the Year campaign.
The students are motivated to raise over $150,000 because they know family or friends who've battled cancer.
