A new networking group for self-employed women, women with home-based businesses, and women looking to grow their businesses in the Alexandria/Mount Vernon area has formed. The kick-off networking event is Thursday, Oct. 11 at 6:30 pm, and is a free event!
The Mount Vernon/Lee District Chamber of Commerce introduces this committee, and all interested women are invited to attend. There will be events every other month with speakers and activities to help support women by providing educational and networking opportunities that help them grow personally and professionally.
This kick-off event is being held at the Mount Vernon Athletic Club, 7950 Audubon Avenue, Alexandria, 22306. The hot topic this month is "What do you wish you’d known when you first started out in business?" There will be drinks and appetizers, along with 5 short answers to that question by leaders such as Barbara Doyle, CEO of Inova Mount Vernon Hospital, Jane Gandee, President of ServiceMaster of Alexandria-DC, Sonja Caison, President and owner of The Cleaning Authority, Karena Rasser, President of Top It Off Accessories, and Hilaire Henthorne, Owner of Passionate Purpose Coaching, LLC.

Mount Vernon Athletic Club will have representatives there to support the purpose of achieving a balance of life. Chair massages by massage therapist, Dean Bickerstaff, and relaxation techniques by personal trainer, Lauren Milner, will be available to all attending women.
