Custom Leather Trunk Show Coming to River Farm

Designer Bettina Rizzi will showcase her custom leather jackets; 5 percent of sales will benefit AHS programs.

Direct from Buenos Aires, renowned designer Bettina Rizzi will showcase her custom leather jackets at River Farm, headquarters for the American Horticultural Society, in Alexandria to benefit the society, on Thursday, Oct. 22, from 2 to 9 pm.

The Society’s headquarters, a site of regional, national, horticultural and historic significance, River Farm was part of George Washington’s original five farms. Today, the 25-acre property is both an urban green sanctuary for visitors and a national platform from which to promote horticultural innovation and conservation.

Just in time for the holidays, Rizzi will have a selection of men’s and women’s jackets, in styles from trendy to classic, ready for you to view. You will be able to order a leather jacket designed and tailored especially for you, in your choice of style, leather and color -- which will be delivered to you in a matter of weeks. Don’t miss this opportunity to order a luxurious jacket directly from the designer -- for yourself or for a special person. Show samples will also be available for sale.

RSVP by Oct. 20 at (703) 768-5700 x132. Food and beverages will be included when you make a $10 tax-deductible donation to the American Horticultural Society, credited to a purchase. Rizzi will also donate 5 percent of all sales to the American Horticultural Society’s youth gardening education programs. The event will also include special raffles for Bettina Rizzi merchandise.

Historic River Farm is located just off the George Washington Parkway at 7931 East Boulevard Drive, Alexandria, VA 22308, on the banks of the Potomac River, four miles south of Old Town Alexandria.
