Flash Flooding Possible Later Monday: NWS

Parts of Northern Virginia should brace for possible hazardous weather later Monday, according to the National Weather Service.

Some areas — including Alexandria, Arlington, Falls Church, Fairfax County and the District of Columbia — may see flash flooding Monday afternoon and evening.

The weather service says the area could see heavy rain, and a severe thunderstorm that could bring damaging winds and hail.

As of 1:15 p.m., there is no timeframe forecast other than Monday afternoon and evening. No watches or warnings have been issued.

The weather forecast calls for a 70 percent chance of rain.
