The plan will be released for a 30-day public review and comment period in early July. The document will analyze the potential impacts of three alternatives, including a no-action alternative for the Fort Hunt Park Site Development Plan. This plan follows a previous plan released in September 2011 and will include alternatives that respond to public feedback received and additional analysis conducted.

The purpose of the plan is to identify an overall direction for park management of Fort Hunt Park while defining specific resource conditions and improvements to visitor experience in order to enhance visitor experience and connections with park resources, protect park resources, and create a balance of park use that optimizes recreation and resource protection. The EA has been completed in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA), as well as other applicable laws, regulations and policies.
