Two State Senators Will Serve Fort Hunt

Because of redistricting, Fort Hunt will elect state senators for 30th and 36th Senate districts. One will represent eastern half, the other will represent western half.

Election Day will be here in about three weeks, on Tuesday, Nov. 8.  Because of redistricting, Fort Hunt now has two state Senate districts: the 30th District and 36th District. Residents will need to know if they are voting in District 30 or District 36 before they vote.

Beginning in the south, the dividing line (for Fort Hunt) between the two districts runs from Wittington Boulevard, makes a right on Elkin Street, a left onto Fort Hunt Road, and then begins to zig and zag a bit onto both sides of Fort Hund Road after Collingwood Road. Patch has enclosed maps of both districts here but to see more details, visit VPAP, for the 36th here and the 30th here.

The Fairfax County Office of Elections is in the process of mailing all registered voters new voter registration cards, which should be completely processed by Oct. 31.
