Gas Prices Keep Falling

The average price for a gallon of self-service regular gasoline in the Northern Virginia metropolitan area dropped from $3.66 a gallon last month to $3.51 on average, according to AAA Mid-Atlantic. Gas prices were $3.86 six months ago.

The lowest price for a gallon of regular gas in the Fort Hunt area as of Sunday night, according to AAA was $3.41, at Mobil, 8156 Richmond Highway.

Here are a sampling of more low prices for a gallon of regular self-serve gasoline in the Fort Hunt area as reported by GasBuddy.com:

• $3.59 a gallon; Shell, 2600 Sherwood Hall Lane
• $3.54 a gallon; CITGO, 8158 Mt. Vernon Highway
• $3.45 a gallon; Hess, 7604 Richmond Highway
• $3.59 a gallon; Shell, 7926 Fort Hunt Road
