Moran, Allen Win Big in Fort Hunt
Patch has primary results broken down by precincts in the Fort Hunt and Hybla Valley communities.

Incumbent U.S. Rep. sweept the Fort Hunt and Hybla Valley communities by large margins in Tuesday’s primaries.
Moran faced political newcomer Bruce Shuttleworth in the Democratic primary election for Virginia’s 8th District, which includes Arlington County, the city of Alexandria and parts of Fairfax County. He consistently earned more than 70 percent of the votes in all local precincts.
Moran’s best showing was in the Hybla Valley precinct, where he won 95 percent of the vote, compared to 5 percent for Shuttleworth. The highest percentage of voters choosing Shuttleworth was in the Waynewood precinct, where he received 30 percent of the vote.

District-wide, Moran won handily with 74 percent of the vote.

In the Republican primary for U.S. Senate, Fort Hunt-area voters overwhelmingly voted for former Gov. , who received more than 80 percent of the vote in most precincts. Â Challenger Jamie Radtke fared second best but won only between 8 and 27 percent of the vote at local precincts.
