Munoz Challenges Frederick to a Debate in Spanish
Two GOP candidates vying for Senate District 36 seat, meeting in August 23rd primary.

Two candidates with ties to Colombia may meet in a debate conducted in Spanish if one of those candidates gets his wish.
Tito Munoz, a Republican candidate for the 36th District state Senate seat, issued a press release to the media today, saying he is asking fellow GOP candidate Jeff Frederick to debate in Spanish.
Munoz is a native of Colombia and Frederick has a parent from the South American country.

āThis is a great opportunity for the voters of the 36thĀ District, particularly the Hispanic population,ā said MuƱoz.Ā āSince we have two Hispanic candidates for the Republican nomination, what better opportunity is there to reach out to our growing population?Ā I hope Jeff agrees that our Hispanic brothers and sisters might like to be spoken to in their native language.ā
Munoz said he plans to contact Frederick to see if he is interested, and if so, will decide on the place and time for a debate in Spanish.Ā

The Fairfax County population is 15.6 percent Hispanic; while Prince William County is 20.3 percent Hispanic, according to the 2010 Census.
