'Today' Show's Hoda Kotb to Headline Local Business Gathering

Host will discuss lessons in success and survival at Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce event Oct. 7.

TV fans of Hoda Kotb, host of the "fun" fourth hour on NBC-TV's "Today" show, will want to mark their calendars. The Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce welcomes Kotb on Friday, Oct. 7 at an event at the McLean Hilton in Tysons.

Kotb, a breast cancer survivor, will discuss her experience at the Fairfax Chamber Women in Business event, scheduled from 5:30-8 p.m., to help promote awareness of breast cancer. October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Kotb was diagnosed in March 2007 and shared her story on "Today" the same year.

The co-host, alongside Kathie Lee Gifford, is widely recognized for her coverage of domestic and international stories from New Orleans to Southeast Asia. Kotb, also a "Dateline NBC" correspondent, is a New York Times best-selling author for her book "Hoda: How I Survived War Zones, Bad Hair, Cancer and Kathie Lee."

“It is an honor for the Chamber to host Ms. Kotb here in Northern Virginia—where she spent many of her childhood years—for this insightful program,” said Jim Corcoran, Fairfax Chamber president and CEO. “Her vast personal and career experiences will undoubtedly provide meaningful takeaways for all attendees.”

Tickets to the event are $125 for members and $150 for non-members. Registration is available at www.fairfaxchamber.org.
