Rep. Jim Moran Holding 'Jobs Boot Camp' June 28th

Congressman Jim Moran, (D-VA, 8th District) who represents is holding a Job Hunters Boot Camp on Tuesday, June 28th, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon at T.C. Williams High School, 3330 King St., in Alexandria.

The event is free and open to all who are from Moran's 8th District. (See map of district by clicking on the link.) The district includes Arlington County, the cities of Alexandria and Falls Church and parts of Fairfax County (including Hybla Valley). Participants may register here.

The unemployment rate for the Washington area is 5.4 percent versus a national rate of 8.7 percent.

The morning program will feature breakout sessions and panel discussions by employment experts and major local employers.

• Interviewing tips for making the right impression
• Putting your experience to work: Advice for mature workers
