Route 1 Old Country Buffet To Stay Open

The Old Country Buffet on Route 1 is staying open despite the restaurant’s parent company closing 81 locations cross the country.

“There are no closings in the entire state of Virginia,” said company spokeswoman Melissa Sheer.

The restaurant’s owner, Buffets, Inc., announced a restructuring agreement and filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy last week. The affected restaurants, described as “underperforming,” closed on Jan. 19 and 20, Sheer said.

Old Country Buffet is located at 7820 Richmond Highway.
