Safeway Renovation on Track for March 2013 Unveiling

Patch stopped by this week to see how the Safeway renovation at Belle View Shopping Center is coming along. It seems to be progressing and workers at the project said this week that the target completion date is on track for March 2013.

A local shopper looking at Christmas trees for sale in the nearby parking lot said she can't wait for the store to re-open.

The grocery store began renovations in late September and is closed until renovations are complete.

The new store will feature a new meat and seafood department, Starbucks coffee and a bakery.

The supermarket is located at 1624 Belle View Blvd. Shoppers can still patronize Safeway at the Fort Hunt Safeway, located at 7900 Fort Hunt Rd. in the Hollin Hall Shopping Center.
