Shoplifting Turns Into Hit-And-Run In Hybla Valley

Police say several cars got hit as the three people tried to escape.

HYBLA VALLEY, VA — Three people are facing charges after a shoplifting incident became a hit-and-run in Hybla Valley on Tuesday, Oct. 8.

Fairfax County Police received a report of stolen merchandise from the Shoppers at 7660 Richmond Highway around 6:30 p.m. The suspects reportedly fled in a Ford minivan.

Officers spotted the van and tried to pull it over. When the driver did not cooperate, a pursuit started. At one point, the driver crashed into several cars, causing the van to become disabled and ending the pursuit. There were no reports of injuries from the hit-and-run.

The driver, Tamara Wilson, 30, of Washington, D.C., was charged with larceny, felony hit and run, failure to stop and driving without a license. Ronald Arrington, 51, and Robert Townes, 59, of Washington, D.C., were charged with larceny.
