The Virginia governor replacing Texas Gov. Rick Perry as chair of Republican Governors Association, but is he interested in being on the 2012 presidential ticket?

Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell says he would be "very interested" in being on the Republican ticket as a vice presidential candidate in 2012.

McDonnell toldĀ PoliticoĀ ā€œI’m not asking for the call. I’m not looking for the call. As I’ve said many times, I’ve got the best job in America.

ā€œBut I think anybody who is in public life, if a presidential nominee called him and said, ā€˜I need your help to win,’ it would be a tremendous honor. … We’ll see. It’s going to be seven, eight, nine months before any of these decisions are made.ā€
