Water Main Break on Route 1 and North Kings Highway Causes Delays

A water main break around 7 a.m. Tuesday was reported on northbound Route 1 and North Kings Highway. Two right lanes are currently closed.

At about the same time, a water main break was reported on Route 236 and Willow Run Drive causing road closures in the left eastbound lanes. The right lane of the road is still accessible at this time, according to a Fairfax County Traffic Alert.

Delays are expected through morning rush hour. Motorists are asked to seek alternate routes to their destinations.
