VDOT has detours in place and is urging drivers to use caution and allow extra time while crews continue to clear the scene.

• Court docs: Suspect accompanied victim to Hampton restaurant before shooting (wavy.com) — Newly released court documents shed more light on an April shooting inside Juicy King Crab House at Peninsula Town Center in Hampton, where two people were wounded. Records describe a fight at a booth, pepper spray, and surveillance video that allegedly shows the 18-year-old suspect firing twice, then carrying a child out before leaving the infant with an employee.

• Acting Secretary of the Navy, Hung Cao to headline maritime summit in Norfolk (wavy.com) — A major maritime summit is coming to downtown Norfolk this October, bringing the acting Secretary of the Navy and hundreds of industry, military, and policy leaders to Hampton Roads. The two-day Ironclad Maritime Summit will focus on rebuilding the maritime industrial base, workforce pipelines, and new technologies, with tours of regional shipyards and related facilities.
